Any suggestions for a warm water bootie? Will be diving Roatan and need something less than my 6.5's that I usefor Catalina and pacific diving. Note: I'm not interested in full foot fins.

i have thin deep see boots that work fine, though I personally prefer fullfoots. you can also try going with a shorter boot, more like a shoe. i'm fairly sure oceanic and deep see have something along those lines.

Frankly, I've used my 7mm booties for warm Caribbean diving with no problems. You may find you don't really need new booties.

True. I used mine last year in Cayman, and they worked fine. Iwas trying to get rid of some weight and bulk for travelling.

I went to full foot fins in warm water. They're good for control, weigh next to nothing, cheap and dive guides everywhere I've been on a warm water boat use them for exactly those reasons. The only time I wished I had my hard soled boots was diving with 6 Pack inRangeroa, Tahiti, wading to and from the Zodiac in the broken shells. Ouch!!!

Full foot fins are FABULOUS in perfect boat diving conditions. Problem is, they're terrible for anything else. Open heel + booties work everywhere.

Ideally, own two pairs, I suppose. But if you only own one, unless you will ONLY EVER be diving in perfect conditions off boats in warm water, I'd buy open heel first.

My feet never seem to get too warm and my 7mm boots work no matter how hot it gets. I wonder, is this the same with everybodies feet meaning it really doesn't matter what boot you have as long as you're happy with it?

I have some deep sea 3mm booties that don't seem to keep my feet warm in anything I've ever dived. They might do the trick in warm water though. Called the "Echozip"... zip on booties. There's a pull on version too.

I might be the only one... but I'd suggest a pair of Adidas Hellbenders.

<DIV>They're more than I remember them to cost- I think I got mine at DSW shoes for around $50. They make great boat shoes, fit in my fins and hold the spring straps. They drain super fast once out of the water and they are really comfy on land walking around town/the resort. If you see them at a reasonable price, I'd say give them a shot. </DIV>

I have these and am happy with them.http://www.oceanicworldwide.com/p_boots_sunset.html

Those Adidas seem like overkill to me.
