It depends. If the dive sites are close to the resort and we come back between dives, I go commando. If have to be on the boat for two or more dives I wear jammers, lycra shorts like bike shorts but no padding.
Most of the resorts in the Philippines and in most of Asia really, are very close to the dive sites so we come back between dives. |

I do dive in trunks, and sometimes will wear my rashguard as well. Queen, if you are looking at skin alternatives, my rashguard is 50spf and helps avoid the burns. I dive with a neoprene ball cap for the same reason (sunburn on top of the head really sucks!) Last edited by Foo2 : 10-10-2007 at 09:52 AM. Reason: codes |

They're called Jammers. It's what most swimmers (outside of the olympic level) wear these days. Essentially bike shorts, but made to stand up to water better (including Chlorine), and a little shorter so they won't roll up your leg as easily if your wetsuit is tight.
Any decently-sized sporting googd store with a swimwear section will carry them. Speedo makes them, Tyr, and any other number of other makers. No many should wear traditional speedos unless he has a physique like a Greek god. Ladies usually wear a simple one-piece swimsuit, preferably a simple one made for swimmers instead of one from the high fashion section with lots of gold buckles, knots, and clever draped cloth... all that works poorly under a wetsuit. |
