Survey: Integrated or separate hood with your wetsuit.

Personally i like separate hood better, ´cause I have had problems fitting in the integrated hoods with my giant head.

When I dive wet which isn't very often I have a separate hood. It gives me more options.

I like my integrated hood (assuming you get one that fits properly). Less space for water flow, and separate hoods seem to put uncomfortable pressure on my neck

My hood is seperate from my suit-not all of my dives are cold enough for me to want the hood. I wear a 7/5 semi dry that keeps me very warm even in 50 degrees.

I like the idea of having the integrated hood and tried a couple on with my 7mil suit but I couldn't find one that fit well in the body as well as my giant melon of a cranium. So I went the way of a separate hood.

I always dive with a hood or beanie when diving, due to ear pains when the bubbles go past my ears. The Beanies look rediculus but I'm not trying to look cool... Ok, you got me, I am trying to look cool but the beanie doesn't help

With that said, no, I do not prefer to have a hood attached to my suit.

Fit trumps all. If the integrated hoods don't fit you well, look into separates.

I prefer an integrated hood, personally. Any time I'm going to be diving in waters cold enough to justify a 7mm wetsuit, it's cold enough to want a hood. When the hood is attached, it's one less piece of gear to pack, it's easier to pop on and off before and after a dive, and I'm less likely to start to put my rig on, forgetting I have to put the hood on first! (Since I like to leave it until last, especially when it's hot out.)

I think a hooded vest is the best of both worlds...added warmth for your head, and core, when you need it, leave it at home when you don't.

Hoods in general feel pretty claustrophobic to me. I don't like pulling
them over my head and I feel "trapped" in them. I figured an integrated
hood would feel worse. Do the integrated hoods really put less pressure
on your neck?

CompuDude, is it really that easy to pull an integrated on and off?

I was thinking of getting a zip hood so I wouldn't have to squeeze it over my head and so i could get it off fast if I need to.
