Check this out!~My Hubby is looking for it right now!

New Neoprene Beanie – It’s Cool to be Warm
Due to popular request, Whites has released a fabulous new 1 mm. neoprene beanie. This "Toque", as we Canadians call it, is a huge benefit for divers who complain about being cold. ... MORE
Found this in a news letter from Sport Diver Magazine
(the mag. you get through the Padi Dive Society membership. He (my husband) hates to wear a hood when the rest of us are not cold but having so little hair makes him miss alot of the dives that we do without hoods because his head gets sooooooo cold! Hey Larry...can you get us a couple of these ordered? They were on the same page of the news-letter as the new Whites Dry-Suits. Let me know please.....We HAVE to have these!

Probably I can get them in... I'll have to call up whites... We used to carry their dry suits - but not much any more as we've switched lines.

I'm a bit curious as to how that will stay on your head. Hoods have a nasty tendency of getting air bubbles flowing up into them, and the air turns them into a cone head. You will see another post out there on how to put a hole in hoods to vent the air. So with no chin strap - that really looks like a product we can sell multiple times! Each time you lose one!

All the beanies we have now have a chin strap - while maybe not as chic, they do stay on your head!

He looked at these but doesn't want them over his ears..I guess we could sew some small neoprene straps with a velcro sticky thing to secure it somehow to keep it from getting lost in addition to air holes....anyway if you can get ahold of them we will take 2...just PM me when they come in and I'll fax you payment. Thanks.

I have a 3 mill beanie that I had our local wetsuit shop make for me. It has a simple chin strap for a secure fit.

This 1 mil looks like a nice thing to wear right now around here(in AR) on the boat after a dive for me when it's chilly.....
Does your head get colder than the rest of your body...I am just curious because he says his is freezing but I am not shaving my head to see what he is talking about.

Are they really designed to be worn while diving, or is it to put on during your SI when it's cold outside?

The way I understand it they are wearing them underwater....I can imagine my mask strap would help keep it on as long as an airhole was put in the thing but I was thinking of wearing it for maybe both....

You lose most of your body heat though your head. So if you keep your head warm you will tend to stay warm.
