Having worked in this business, I could not do that. If I go to my lds and try on suits.. I buy my suit there... They had to pay for the space and the inventory... Of the Seven suits I have right now, three were from LDS's, the rest off of the internet...It is true that I own several suits made by the same people, and while the first one was from an LDS, some of the others, because I know my size, were internet purchases. I suppose that is not really fair either.. so I am far from perfect.

I buy masks locally when I'm trying a new style. But if I want a second one for spare (or due to loss), I have no issues with ordering others online. I bought my first set of Jetfins at my LDS. But if I ever need to replace them, I'll probably be shopping online. I bought my wetsuit at my LDS. If I need to replace it with an identical suit at some point, I'll probably go online, unless I need the convenience of having it immediately. My wife tried on a wetsuit at a local shop the other day (albeit a huge chain store, so no need for guilt). Didn't like the suits they carried, but now we know her size, at least for that brand. Should we feel guilty about buying online? I figure as long as we're not buying a model they carry, our conscience should be clean. |

I wouldn't think you were being unethical at all....its when one goes in saying to themselves-"i'm not gonna find anything i like and then get my sizes, and find something i like online"....that gets to be shady...but that is between that person and his or her self...i just like to sleep good at night....like i said, i went to my lds to look for fins, regs and bcds...but they don't carry the brands i want (mares-fins, and regs mainly) so to the internet or someone else i go ![]()
