I'm ready to buy a Pinnacle Merino-Elastiprene 3mm wetsuit ( Pinnacle Merino Elastiprene 3mm Mens Wetsuit, Wetsuits: Men, Pinnacle Wetsuits, Pinnacle Merino Elastiprene 3mm Mens Wetsuit ), but I'm struggling to figure out which size is right for me.
This is a big investment in equipment, and I'd like it to last for several years. My size (weight, waist) does fluctuate. I'm currently at my largest size, but I'm able to successfully loose 20-50 pounds when I get motivated (which I actually do every other year or so). The manufacturer's website says the mens' sizes include 3XL, 4XL, King 1, and King 2. But the problem is, their size chart does not give the measurement guidelines for King sizes - so I wonder if those might be right for me? So without knowing the King size measurements... According to their chart I'm a 4XL for weight, chest and waist - but I'm a 2XL for height, hips and inseam. My question is, should I "split the difference" and order a 3XL, and basically count on the stretchiness of the Elastiprene to fit my beer gut? I appreciate any input from those of you who own or have used their Elastiprene wetsuits. The 3XL might be an inch or two over long in the legs and arms, but the 4XL looks it it would several inches too long/tall. What to do? Thanks! |
