Info on wetsuits

I am rather new to diving and I am looking to purchase a 5mm wetsuit. I am looking to purchase either the Henderson Thermoprene 5mm Full suit or the Bare 5mm Progressive Strech suit.

Any suggestions on which is a better suit, i will be doing most of my diving in water temps between 60 - 80 degrees. Is the Bare a much better suit over the Henderson?

Both companies are well-respected suit makers and in all probability you would be quite happy with either.

I don't have any personal experience with either, as local conditions leave no room for a 5mm suit in my collection, and I don't travel enough to justify buying one for travel.

I will say that I have been seeing more reports over the past couple years of quality control issues with Henderson than Bare (which is annoying since Henderson usually costs a bit more), but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll have any issues (or not) with either. Both companies are pretty good about stepping up and supporting their products if you do have a problem, however.

I would suggest getting the least stretchy suit you can because it will last longer and you will not have as much of a buoyancy change at depth. Also, make sure whatever suit you get has slick skin at least everywhere you are sticking out of the suit.

Both of the suits are good. Now the question is, which company do you side with?
