Dive tips

I am curious... what do to keep your hair back & out of you face & mask? Keeping you hair in good shape while diving?

Any tips for for keeping the sandflies at bay?

Good sunscreen?

I have been using the new "no slip" elastic head bands...they are not perfect but so far, they are the best I have found.

Hey Larry, why don't you carry women's no slip hair bands?

I wear those hair bands too. My hair is not long enough to tie back so a hairband is the only thing that stops my hair flopping over my mask.

My tip for keeping your hair in good shape is to soak it well in fresh water before going in a pool or the sea because that will stop it absorbing too much chlorine or salt water. It can only absorb so much water so if it's already wet it can't take on much more.

Before I got my hair cut really short (for ease while diving and motorcycling), I used to get my long hair cornrowed before trips. Kept everything out of the way.

Good sunscreen...I use Ocean Potion. Love it.

Best sunscreen is Baby Magic if you can find it. Cheap and SPF 50

My hair is too short to tie back so I just let it free flow. The fish *usually* leave it alone!

I was diving the other weekend and one of the ladies on board had a small spritz bottle of conditioner that she sprayed on her hair after diving. She says it keeps it from feeling like straw after diving and the long boat ride back to shore. I bought some cheap conditioner (diluted w/water approx 50/50) and a spritzer and plan to try it the next time I dive.

I wear a beanie to keep my long hair down and out of my way. After I dive I typically spray my hair down with a detangler and use a large tooth comb to comb it all through. My hair has stayed nice and soft ever since.

They are over in the section with curling irons and manicure accessories, just left of the tech section.

(Sorry... that was un-called for!)

Probably because we're a bunch of stupid guys, and joe is in charge of most the product purchasing - and he hardly has any hair left.
