Scott said the new Zena lumbar pad and pocket will be unveiled at DEMA this year, which is a month away. Rest assured that the Zena is very comfortable without the lumbar pad, the only reason I added one initially was to take up space since I had lost some weight. It was then I discovered how luxurious it made my BC feel.

I was wondering about the lumbar pad .... my Zena is so comfortable, I couldn't figure out why you would need one ..... I guess this really means I need to seriously lose some weight!

Oh, I absolutely don't think anyone "needs" a lumbar pad for their Zena, it's a very comfortable BC without it. Although I only put it in to take up a bit of space after losing a few pounds, I have to say that I really enjoyed the padding while doing a lot of shore diving on Bonaire. It filled in my lower back space nicely which in addition to the extra padding, made walking around with tanks a lot more comfortable.

Next trip is boat diving in Maui and I'm removing the lumbar pad since I'll be wearing a 7mm full and falling off boats for nearly 2 weeks. BUT it'll go back in place again for Bonaire next summer!!
