I mean really - Guys go on vacation and eat, drink, dive and sleep. Females go and buy every souvenir and over priced t-shirt under the sun. Im surprised the guy isn't crying in a corner somewhere.

I should be dive ready by Christmas and itching to get into some warm water! And unlike the other offers you have on this thread, I am a girl and therefore low maintenance and without expectations. I WIN!

Not true!! Some of us are very low maintenance, and not inclined to shop ... especially not on vacation!!! One trip to Coz our Customs declaration was something like $36 ... it was 2 bottles of booze and some hot sauce ... I was afraid we were going to be stopped because it appeared suspicious we hadn't bought much of anything! In fact Hubby's usually the one shopping for gifts to bring back to his 20 employees ...

I can understand the alcohol, it's duty free. But how good must that hot sauce be to warrant being imported?

#2-i too am very low maintenance-only like shopping for scuba gear
#3-going to ft lauderdale
#4-may be listing some VERY nice scuba gear(his) on used part of forum in near future

right now its hard not to commit a felony-i keep telling myself, "there's no diving in prison"-maybe i'll just have him deported-my fault for not "buying" american!

Not wanting to go on a dive trip...that is just wrong. I'm suprised the Mod's haven't pulled that type of crazy talk from the board.

Regarding the women spending all the money on souvenirs.....Get over it men. I've been married for almost 20 years. I use to get upset when we went on vacation and spent more for all the junk than the cost of vacations. I've learned that I only have to pay for my attitude later. So now, my vacation is go for it, do what you want, spend as much as you want, enjoy yourself. You can only live once and it sure makes life a lot better. (I then have an excuse later to buy more gear by just reminding her how much she spent.....I learned that one from her years ago).

Back to the original topic, tell him you've worked it out and you have a dive buddy that can take his place - he's tall, dark, young, very attractive and gives good back rubs. He should jump on the plane with you (learned that one years ago also from the wife). (BTW I know I fit the description, but I shouldn't get involved....but, if you insist)

I'll send you my wish list. I know you are getting rid of everything I want. Better yet, take me diving and I'll just bring the gear home with me. Don't worry about Lulu, I think I could take her in a fair fight right now. And I live closer than Navy.
