My fiance and I are both divers and are getting married in April. I was just wondering if anyone has ever registered for SCUBA gear instead of the tradtional bath towels and blenders. We already have all the domestic items we need, and you know how all the fun toys for diving can add up. I am just worried that some of the older folks or non-divers just won't understand. To me it makes perfect sense in that we both love diving and it's something we do together. The couple that plays together, stays together, right?

I think it's a wonderful idea! but yes, it will raise some eyebrows! You would probably have to register for something else aswell though? You might run out of cheaper options for people with the scuba gear quite quickly. My friends opened an account that people could deposit money which then helped to pay for their honeymoon. You could do that for a scuba trip!

I don't see why not. Whatever makes the couple happy.

I think it's a brilliant idea and I wish we were diving when we got married. Might want to come up with an alternative for a few of those people that won't get it or are insistant that you need a 6 speed blender. Even still, it's great and you shoulld go for it!

It's a great idea, but like you said, some people just might not get it. An alternative would be to register for your honeymoon, and do a crazy dive trip for your honeymoon. Registering for a honeymoon isn't that unusual now, and you can save the money you would have spent on that and buy dive gear

My wife and I registered at our LDS - all our friends know we dive (so do a lot of them), and would get greater enjoyment out of new gear than a serving platter
! We were also registered elsewhere for those who just hadddddddddddddddddddd to get us non-diving items. Just my two cents...it's your day, do what you want. |
