Good article. I found out about the Mighty "O" last year during my OW. I have been excited and have wanted to do this dive ever since (maybe next year). I have a few more dives to do and a lot more training. I need to finish my AOW and deep diver.

Make sure you look at the slideshow link in the article:

I wonder why it took the NY Times over 2 years to write this article?

Great article & slide show, thanks for posting it! I watched that Discovery channel program too... I would love to dive it. It's gonna take me some time to build up the skills for that one though... Did any of the East Coast divers here see that paragraph about upcoming military artificial reef projects...

"The next ship likely to be transformed is the U.S.S. Arthur W. Radford, a 562-foot destroyer. Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania have collectively proposed turning the Radford into the largest artificial reef project on the East Coast."

SWEET!

Thanks for the article ... one of these days I will make it to Florida and check this out. I watched the Discovery special, and was hooked. It sounds like an amazing dive.

Is it true that the deck of the Oriskany is now at 150 ft.? Are the Dive op's making adjustments to their tours?
