Quest for sunken warships

For everyone interested in diving wrecks. The Military Channel is having a Quest for sunken warships marathon starting November 7th at 8:00 pm (Check your local listings for start time)

Nov 07, 8:00 pm
(60 minutes)

Quest for Sunken Warships
Torpedo Alley
TV-PG, CC

In 1942 German U-boats turned the waters off Cape Hatteras North Carolina into a sea of death. For six months the marauding U-boats patrolled the area unchallenged, sinking countless ships that littered the ocean and beaches with oil, cargo and bodies.

Nov 07, 9:00 pm
(60 minutes)

Quest for Sunken Warships
Operation Hailstone
TV-PG

In February 1944, the World War II tides are turning as the U.S. makes steady inroads against the Japanese in the South Pacific. But hiding among the islands is Truk; a self-contained fortress with a deep lagoon, high islands and circling barrier reef.

Nov 07, 10:00 pm
(60 minutes)

Quest for Sunken Warships
USS Oriskany
TV-PG

The massive aircraft carrier rests in 212 feet of water in a north-south orientation on the sandy bottom. With an overall height of 151 feet, there is plenty of ship to view within recreational dive limits.

Then each of those three episodes will continue to repeat until early am on Nov 8th.

They will play again on Nov 10th.

Starting Nov 14th they will add a new episode

Nov 14, 10:00 pm
(60 minutes)

Quest for Sunken Warships
USS Murphy
TV-PG

A team of divers set out to examine what they thought was a sunken supply ship. They find the hull of a World War II United States Navy Destroyer instead. They've also found a mystery because according to Navy records the USS Murphy never sank.

This episode will play again on Nov 15th and 17th.

Here is the schedule on the Military channels website.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been to North Carolina once and definitely want to go back, so I'll be on the lookout for that one.

Cshel and I are diving the Gill this weekend. It was sunk by a German Uboat in 1942.

Thanks for the reminder. I've spoken to Dave from the series over on Scuba Board and he's a really nice guy. The crew is hoping they get picked up by Discovery.

Did anyone watch?

I plan to do both the U boats from the show next year. Plus the U-85.

Awesome!!

I saw the first episode shown last night. It was great. Didn't make through the second one which was a repeat because I fell asleep. Anyone see the last episode where they dove the Oriskany? Diving the Big 'O' would be cool.

These are dives I'll do, but after I get more experience and complete my AOW. RoadRunner, thanks for the heads-up on these shows.

I had someone tape the first three episodes on Wed. but have not got to watch them yet. I will be picking them up today and parking my butt in front of the tube to watch them tonight!

I've seen all three, good shows except for the over dramatization by the narrator/writers. If you believe them, these poor souls are gonna die any moment now... They should *really* understand that divers are watching the show too and we know BS when we hear it!!!
