Thumbs up Texas Clipper

I received an email from American Diving this afternoon stating the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday is 2-4 foot seas. If this holds the ship will be reefed on Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed!

It's about time, I'm looking forward to making a trip down there next year to dive it. How are the diving conditions there in the Spring?

The reefing of the Texas Clipper has been moved to Friday, November 16. She will be towed out to her final resting place in the morning and reefed in the early afternoon. If you are interested in viewing the sinking you can check the TPWD website for information at Texas Clipper Ship Overview.

The Texas Clipper is to be towed through the jetties at South Padre between 9-9:30am give or take. If you check the webcam at South Padre Island Texas Live Cams Surf Beach Bay Weather Hotel Condo Spring Break Real Estate, the middle cam is a view of the jetties. One might get a glimse of the ship as she is being towed out.

I am glad this is finally happening. Sadly I will probably have to wait until next year to dive it.
