I am looking for cheap but working gear

I am starting a dive club here. I am looking to really cheap but functional, BCD, regs, masks, fins, suits. But It has to be cheap. If anyone has older but functional gear taking up space in their closet let me know.

Cheap you can find, but do you want to have your dive or you life depend on the cheapest gear?
Used gear is one alternative, but you have to make sure you can have it serviced. Used gear has a shorter future than new gear.
Save up a little longer, and get decent gear new. I have gear I bought used, but I am now saving for new gear.
good luck!

Good scuba gear can last damn near forever. So good used scuba gear should last almost damn near forever. One real limit on the durability of gear is parts and technical support. If you select used gear that uses standard service parts and can do the servicing yourself, used high performance gear can offer excellent performance while saving at least 50% of the cost of new gear of comparable quality.

You can find excellent quality used gear everywhere, ST has used gear so does LP. I find tons of like new items on eBay as well. Lots of people make the mistake of buying gear before they know if they are going to like diving and much of it ends up on eBay and craiglist.

Good luck with your club!

Hi. If your club is sponsored by a university, or similar entity, you might be able to get a government grant to purchase gear.

Found some good Ebay deals on new and used gear last year...right after Christmas. Guess Santa brought some folks the wrong stuff.

But, it's hard to beat the closeout and used gear prices at Scubatoys.
