JBL makes a good 39" aluminum spear gun that can be picked up for around $125. It has the retractable prongs. Put some locktite on it if you get it.
See link.
JBL Spearguns

I love mine. It has a 12ft range, which is perfect for our (Midwest you and me Arkansas) conditions.

I have a Hawaiian sling I'll sell ya for $2.00. Problem is the shipping would probably be $30.00, and you can buy 'em new for $35 at your LDS.
