WTB dive computer in good shape
Having just started I'm looking for a dive computer. Must be nitrox compatible as I intend to go that route. Also since I am not a spring chicken anymore, nice big digits are a plus so I can read them. Eg an Oceanic Veo 180 I can read easily.
Please let me know make, model, age and #dives as well as what you would want for it. Thanks in advance |

Here are some from stores cheap enough and all do Nitrox:
Mares Puck $182 New - Mares Puck Wrist. Instruments Computers, Scubastore.com, buy, offers, scuba Oceanic Geo $200 Used - Used Oceanic Geo Nitrox Dive Computer reviews and discounts, Oceanic Oceanic Geo $250 New - Oceanic Geo Nitrox Dive Computer reviews and discounts, Oceanic Mares M2 $170 New - Mares M2 Nitrox Computer reviews and discounts, Mares Oceanic Veo 180 $200 New - Oceanic VEO 180 Wrist Scuba Diving Computer I personally like the Puck since it is backlit, very easy to use, comes with a screen protector and has nice big numbers all for a very good deal. |

I really like their computers and will most likely buy one of their products again when I switch over to a hoseless... then will use the gekko as a backup.

I've been looking at all the recommended units. Thanks guys. The Gecko appears to be a Vyper with some neutred features. I found a thread where someone has been able to hack it and enable you do download from it..
My only qualm is that it has no backlight but I have a light to activate the phosphorence display... I've had hands on with a Veo 180 and can read the display easily. I've seen a Mares M2 but unfortunately it had dead batteries so I could not check the display. I've yet to find a Gekko and look it it... |

I have a Cressi Archimedes II to sell. Has maybe a hlf dozen dives on it, then I went a hoseless computer. It is easy to read, has a good backlight and is air/nitrox. It also has a user-replaceable battery. There may be some minor marks on the plastic lens protector, but nothing worth replacing and I always used the lens protector so there are no marks at all on the face. It is in pristine condition. I would like to get $190.00 for it

I have both a VEO180 and a Mares M2, if you can read the display on the VEO the M2 will be no problem, its has quite a large display and can stay backlit for the entire dive. Out of the 2 computers i do prefer the 180, the NDL on the M2 are too conservative for me but from checking the forums here there are a great many people that like the. I have just made the switch to a Nemo Wide and sold the M2. IMHO the veo is a better computer when compared to the M2.
edit to add: The veo batteries are fairly easy to replace, just takes a few minutes...not as easy as the M2 but still very doable. For the price listed on divers direct, i think the VEO is a better deal. You would be getting a good reliable NEW nitrox computer for 200 bucks. Both computers are good though no matter what route you go. |
