Protective Netting for Tank..Not Plastic Mesh

Has anyone seen a type of like strong fish net material that can placed on tanks to stop damage to the paint.

I've got one for one of my tanks but would like get a few more.

You know I have wondered if any one had used the stuff you spray/roll onto protect truck beds???? Seems really tough, and flexible.....

You can buy the stuff at auto parts stores now and do it yourself. But, I kind of wonder how well your tank straps would stay on... And would compression effect it any? The tank won't compress any but the actual material may... making tanks slide right off. At least, these are the potential problems I see with it. Somebody needs to try it out and see!

Can you say "UGLY" ? It would look better if it was painted w/ a bunch of scratches.....

The problem with this approach is that it would have to be removed when the tank VIP is done. Actually, all decals, etc. are supposed to be removed from the tank when the VIP is done to check for rust/pitting on the external surface of the tank. NOt alway done, but should be done.

I've used a couple of these and found that they eventually slip up towards the top of tank. Nothing 'against' the plastic mesh just looking for an alternative.
